Houses

House points collection tubes.

In order to engender a positive approach to behaviour at school and develop pride and a sense of identity, we have adopted a ‘House’ system at Bramhope.

There are four Houses, running from Reception to Y6.

Our houses focus on inspirational Yorkshire men and women and each child is placed in one of the following houses (siblings are always in the same houses): Burton (Green), Wilberforce (Yellow), Bronte (Blue) or Hepworth (Red).

Each child earns house points for demonstrating positive behaviour and attitudes to learning and will remain in the same house throughout their school lives.  The houses provide a strong new identity within school with each child receiving a house t-shirt.  At the end of each term the House Cup is awarded to the house with the most house points.

Each house celebrates the birthday of their inspirational person by coming to school in their house colours.  Double house points are up for grabs on this day!

Hepworth - 10th January

Wilberforce - 25th March (23rd is a weekend)

Bronte - 18th April (21st is over Easter weekend)

Burton - 10th May

Each house has two Year 6 children as their 'House Captains'.
